The original inhabitants of Legacy referred to themselves as the 'People of Earth' and their land as 'The Earth'. Not everybody had powers, in fact most people were normal and lived lives very similar to our own. The cities looked the same, although they were less densly populated. Most people lived in towns along the borders of the cities. The greatest city on Earth was called Legacy. It was the cultural center of the world and the living history of the people. Its original name was Noal, but the people decided that the center of human life on Earth should have a "grand" name.
The world itself is the same size as our earth, but the inhabitable land is much smaller. Oceans and ice cover more than 2/3 of the world. The inhabitable land is like a chain of islands. Legacy sits on the largest island surrounded by the cities of Coril, Kalp, and Straer. Smaller islands used to be fishing towns and the even smaller islands were residential homes.
In the uninhabitable lands, vicious animals roamed. The most fearsome were called the White Bears. These Bears had the ability to speak, but their speech was horrible sounding to the human ears. Because of these fearsome bears, humans lived in cities and warmer climates in hopes of escaping their cullings. Occasionally, an expedition would travel to the icey lands with a group of warriors (people with pain inflicting powers) as protection. It was on one of these expeditions, that the people discovered a way to get rid of the bears forever.
The news spread rapidly and the scientists worked day and night to make the device as soon as possible. Finally, the day came when the unveiling of the device would occur. The ruler of Earth initiated the eradication of White Bears. The device hummed and golden particles gathered around it. It was the last thing that the people saw.
The device did not eradicate the White Bears, but the humans. The few people who survived were those who had powers. Unknowingly to the people, the device had opened a portal. The portal lies in the emptiness of the great city, Legacy. Those survivors still live near the portal, drawn to it by an unseen force.
For the past 100 years, the people have lived in the empty buildings of the city, slowly rebuilding their society. The smaller islands have been reclaimed by the ocean. Only Legacy, Coril, Kalp, Straer, and a few of the larger islands remain.
Danger is brewing in the oceans, bears have been sighted closer to the cities than before, and people have mysteriously disappeared. The world of Daemons lies right next door, what will happen when the two worlds collide?
