"Are you alright, Honeypaw?" Smokestripe said. "Do you need Stargazer to look at those scratches?" She looked the honey-gold apprentice over, not sure how bad the scratches were. Then she turned her attention back to the tunnels. Smokestripe looked around. "We should check out these tunnels. We should know where they lead in case trouble might come from wherever they let out." She said it like she was being serious, but her eyes glimmered with adventure and her paws kneaded the ground with anticipation. (XD There! This should get us back on track.) |

Stargazer groaned.
Her paw hurt.
"I think I twisted my paw," she meowed, examining it with narrowed and experienced eyes.
"Or it's just sore," she finally concluded, setting it down slowly.
The wind swept through the tunnels, making an eerie whispering sound, and her ears pricked foward.
Tooth and claw they come, to wreak the forest as one.
Stargazer stared at the biggest tunnel, her head sideways.
"What?" she demanded loudly, her voice smoother and more mysterious.

Smokestripe looked at the Medicine Cat. "I didn't say anything, neither did Honeypaw. Stargazer, are you alright? Maybe you knocked your head coming down the tunnel." The gray cat padded over to the other cat.

"I'll be fine," Honeypaw sniffed snobbily, lifting her chin to gaze around the cavern. As Stargazer spoke, the brown apprentice's ears pricked slightly. "Maybe she did get hurt on the way down... odd, nobody said anything at all."
Her eyes narrowed. "Or maybe StarClan are trying to talk to us."

Stargazer glared at them.
"I did not hit my head," she hissed out hotly, her eyes smoldering.
How dare they say she did such a thing! She knew that if she fell, she could protect herself by ducking her head and protecting it between her paws and chest.
There was no way she'd have hit her head.
"StarClan could be, but maybe another spirit here," she muttered, going back into a habit of slurred and mumbled words.
What could be here that wasn't out there? Why the fall to bring a prophecy?
The black medicine cat stalked foward, and turned her head around.
A sign....
Behind Honeypaw, Stargazer could see the faint outline of a cat, and when she blinked, it was gone.
Hm.
Stargazer slowly padded past the apprentice, and into the small tunnel, her whiskers twitching as she entered total darkness.
Without waiting to see if her Clanmates would keep up, she slipped foward, her belly low to the ground.

Honeypaw flattened her ears, her golden eyes narrowed. "Okay, so you didn't hit your head. Big deal." A few moments ago, she had been normal, not sarcastic at all--but that had passed now that Stargazer had spoken.
Her ears pricked as the medicine cat went on. "A spirit? Why would there be one down here? Couldn't it have escaped the earth walls and gone up to meet StarClan?"
But Stargazer had already turned around and was heading into the tunnels. Figuring it would be better to follow her, to make sure she didn't get in trouble--hey, she might need Honeypaw's help--the golden-brown apprentice, trotted forward, her bellyfur sweeping the hard earth as she followed the black speckled cat.

"I think Stargazer's gone off the deep end." Smokestripe muttered to Honeypaw. Then she turned to Stargazer and said in a louder voice, "We should report any prophesies to our leader. That is--if she even trusts you." She added with a glint in her amber eyes.
(XD I was grounded! And sorry it's short. I'm tired and laggy.)
