Icestar's green eyes narrowed, scanning the stones for the slightest sign of prey. She sat up, twitching her tail. I don't smell anything... How odd... Prey is usually- She interrupted her own thoughts- A small mouse was practically sitting there- nibbling on a nut just begging for her to catch it. Pricking her ears, and crouching as low as possible, she crept up on it without a sound. Almost there... But not quite the right time... A loud call of a bird made her jump, making her make a loud noise. The mouse twitched its nose, and fled. She let out a small hiss out frustration and looked around for more prey. Lashing her tail once, and sheathing her claws, she sat down. Well, I certainly don't feel like hunting anymore... She started licking her paw, her eyes cold with anger. She swiped her paw over her ears a few times, and scanned the area calmly. [/sup]

Blackfrost was lying in the Warriors' den, with a mad expression on his face. The den was crowded, and very loud. Annoyed by all the talking, Blackfrost gave an angry sigh, got up, and walked out of camp.
Outside the camp, it was much calmer and quieter. He walked on, and found the Sunburned Stones. It was very peaceful here. The sun was shining, there was the sound of bird song surrounding him, and it was very warm, just as liked it. Blackfrost chose a spot near a stone, and lay down.
Just as he lay down, he realized how hungry he was. Sniffing the air for a scent of prey, he stood up and crouched. Nearby, he could smell a mouse. He scanned the territory, and headed towards it. Soon enough, there was a mouse in front of him after taking a few steps into the tree-filled area. He creeped toward it, low to the ground. After he was a tail-length away, the mouse turned to the right, and Blackfrost twisted himself to leap after it. But instead of catching the mouse, he ran into another cat.
"Oof!" Blackfrost hit the ground with a big thud, unaware that there had been a cat in the same area.

Icestar let out a soft hiss, then turned to glance at what hit her. As usual, she had a frown on her face. "Hmph. How careless... Anyway. What brings you here in such a hurry?" The sun shone on her, making her eyes glitter, looking even colder. She snorted, and licked her paw. "Well... If you are hunting for the clan, I suppose it is alright for you to be out. After all, you aren't an apprentice..." She muttered. She lay down on the stone, eyes narrow. It's so hot out... But I don't feel like getting up... She sat up again, grunting with annoyance. I need to catch prey... I can't just snap one of my clan-mates when I have no excuse for not having prey. I must look pathetic. She unsheathed a claw, and scraped it at the ground with frustration. How could I have missed such an easy kill?! Stupid bird... Her eyes flashed briefly with irritation. She glanced at Blackfrost, eyes narrow. Well... At least he is hunting. At least work is getting done... She thought, drawing a paw over her ear again.

Blackfrost blinked for a second to see who it was he ran into. When he realized who it was, he meowed with a dark tone, "My apologies, Icestar . . . I was careless to not know you were here. I was chasing a mouse." He looked around the area. The trees here were completely dry and clean. No frost was on these like all the others he'd seen recently. Must be the heat. "The trees aren't covered with frost in this area. . . ." Blackfrost muttered quietly. "Have you noticed how much frost there has been on the trees and all the ice on the rivers? Leaf-bare must be here. . . ."
Blackfrost's ears twitched at the sight of the mouse he'd seen earlier. It was right in front of them. With no hesitation at all, he crouched and leapt at it, claws unsheathed. He bit it and buried it for later.

Icestar grimaced. "At least you were respectful about it... I see... chasing a mouse... I have noticed the trees. It is strange, actually. Not the fact that there is frost, but the amount of it. The river doesn't surprise me. It will just be a cold Leaf-bare, I suppose... Nothing to worry about. We have plenty of prey to make it through any season. Including Leaf-Bare..." She growled.
Icestar glanced at him. "I am going hunting. If you want to come, come." She meowed bluntly, not waiting for a response, she turned in the opposite direction. And this time... I won't fail. She swiped her tounge around her jaws like she was looking at a juicy piece of prey.

Blackfrost huffed. "I dunno . . . leaf-bare seems pretty harsh this season. All the trees aren't usually covered in frost on the leaves. More than half the trees in this forest are this leaf-bare." He glanced around again. Behind the trees in the Sunburned Stones territory, he could see frost on other treetops. The huge amount of frost worried him. How bad would Leaf-bare get this year?
At the sound of hunting, Blackfrost twitched his ears. It would be disrespectful to the leader to say no. Guess I don't have a choice. . . . he thought to himself. He stood up and silently followed his leader into the forest.
After a while, he stopped and sniffed. "Icestar, I can smell a stale scent of fox. Shall I scout ahead to check?"

She stopped walking for a moment to reply; "Well... Whatever is happening, all that matters is Hailclan will make it through. You make a good point, however. If it seems like a threat then I will send patrols to check things out. Including myself..." She meowed, a little thoughtful. I suppose it is quite strange... Well, probably nothing to worry about! I am a fool to worry at all. If it is that big of a threat, Hailclan will still get through it! So who cares? I sure don't.
"Hm, She sniffed the air briefly, Well, well. It is quite stale... But you may. Just be careful... if there is any danger, you need to some how let any type of clan member to help you. I would like a report back from you, good luck." She mewed, then added, "I am going hunting. After you do that, please see if you can take a hunting patrol out. Our fresh-kill stock is running low." She meowed curtly.

"Hopefully," Blackfrost meowed as he walked along side Icestar. He opened his jaws to find the area where the fox scent had been. He glanced around to see the exact locaction. "Alright . . ." he meowed, "I'll go check while you hunt."
He wandered near the area with the strong fox stench. His nose twitched at the foul smell. There didn't seem to be anyone there. Blackfrost's eyes were narrowed in the scene, as he watched for an enemy. Suddenly, he heard something from the side and ducked down instantly behind the grass. Sure enough, there was the pelt of red-colored fox. It seemed young, and not too strong, but he knew not to underestimate it. Hoping Icestar was still near, Blackfrost quickly to the place where she and him had been walking.

Icestar, startled turned her head to where she heard a small sound. "Blackfrost? She growled, glancing at him. What's wrong? You ran back practically a second before you left. Did you see anything?" She twitched her nose, expecting some sort of danger already. I can smell fox scent now... It was so faint... Now it must be back. Well, no sort of animal that doesn't belong to my clan will come and go here whenever it pleases...
"I can scent it. Fox... That's what you came back for, I assume. Well, at least you weren't stupid enough to attack it. Well, show me where it is. Might as well investigate the area- or drive it out. Preferably, drive it out. If it is female, that would make it worse. If we wait, and it is female, there is a chance that it could have cubs... That is the last thing that Hailclan need right now." Icestar growled.

"Foxes," Blackfrost panted as he saw her, "They're here, and they're heading in the direction of the camp." He was short on breath as he spoke; he was nearly dizzy from running so fast. "It may not be my place to say," meowed Blackfrost, "I think we should warn the queens and prepare for battle,"
OOC: Sorry for the short post. =p Not much to say at the moment.

She nodded. "Well, then, catch your breath and hurry up. We have no time for talking right now." She snapped, rushing to where the fox's scent was the strongest. She paused, standing still, "Well... it's right there. Stay down and be quiet. We should ambush it before it gets to the camp, if it does get to camp... Then we warn them. For now, it isn't at camp, we might as well try and avoid battling it from the camp." She hissed quietly. One fox isn't big enough of a deal to warn the whole camp if we can avoid it... "Whenever you're ready, we can attack it and hope it will run... If it doesn't... Then just be prepared.." She muttered.
OOC: It's O.K, it happens. =P x3 Fox attack will be fun.<3

Smoketalon gave a small hiss of annoyance as what seemed to be the millionth apprentice, but was probably only the third or fourth, ran straight into her and then proceeded to fall over her. She'd been curled up by the edge of the cliff where the waterfall fell, and she'd been enjoying the gentle spray of water along her fur, but now it seemed that the mostly good morning had been totally and utterly ruined.
With a small mewl of apology, that apprentice tried to explain what had been happening; they were all bored, so they were pretending Boneclan was attacking.
Her green eyes narrowed in an angry manner, but before she could go off at the young apprentice, he'd dashed off to continue in the mock battle. Her tail twitched once more, and she stood with a lengthy stretch. She could always go out and hunt. Maybe even find a nice patch of warm grass to continue her nap undisturbed. And so she did.
Her path took her over by the Sunburned Stones. She spotted a mouse almost immediately and, shutting out the rest of the world, she began to stalk the prey.
Smoketalon inched through the dying growth, nose scrunching in annoyance as frost flaked off onto her pelt. Soon, the mouse was only a tail-length of so away, and with a swift blow of her paw, the mouse died.
As she turned to bury the mouse to retrieve it later, a flash of movement in the distance caught her eyes. Smoketalon cautiously headed over that way.

Icestar swiveled her ears to the loud noise, and gave a small irritated hiss. She scented the area, and realized it was one of her own warriors. She flattened her ears, the fox probably heard! "Everyone be quiet." She whispered, not entirely sure if Smoketalon could hear her. "We are going to ambush the fox. It's the best way to get rid of it. I plan on killing it, or driving it out... If we drive it out, then we need to warn the other clans..."

Smoketalon froze, ears twitching in embarrassment. The was a fox nearby? Why hadn't she scented it?
The she-cat inched closer to what she now knew was her leader and another warrior. She wanted to apologize, but it was probably best to keep silent until the fox was gone. No reason to anger her leader further.
She gave a hesitant nod to Icestar and Blackfrost and, almost instantly forgetting her pledge of silence, asked her leader, "What's the plan then?"
(OOC: Yeah, not much to say. Bad post... I gotted and F.)

Slightly surprised by Smoketalon's appearance, Blackfrost stepped back a little, make a twig snap below his paw.
With a serious expression, Blackfrost glanced at Smoketalon and back to the direction of the fox's scent. He pondered on the situation. If Icestar planned on killing the fox, they'd need a good plan.
"Icestar," mewed Blackfrost firmly and quietly, "What if I made myself a diversion for the fox, Smoketalon ran back to camp to warn a few, and then you attacked it? It's the only plan I can think of at the moment that might work, and it'd be fast." He looked around. The fox wasn't visible, but he could still scent it. It smelled like it was closer now.
"It's coming this way. What do you think, Icestar?"
