Name: Skysong
Age: 2 years
Rank: Warrior
Clan: GustClan
Physical Description: Skysong is a graceful, shimmering silver and black tabby ocicat. Bright blue eyes are set into her cheerful face, and they glimmer like the ocean when any kind of light catches them. Her body is lean and lithe, built for speed instead of strength. The strategy she uses in battle is hit-and-run, often striking with many shallow cuts and wearing the cat out. Occasionally she will simply give her enemy everything she has, but honestly she isn't too strong. Skysong's powerful legs make her a stunning hunter, and she relies on stealth and speed on almost everything she does. She loves to race especially.
Personality: Skysong is a playful, good-natured yet honor-bound cat, ready and eager to "take one for the team". She gives plenty of encouragement to those who need it, but is not afraid to use her teeth and claws. The she-cat can be impatient, always wanting things to be quickly and efficiently accomplished; and the faster the better. Loners and rogues do not phase her, but traitors were hated in her eyes, and she did not welcome them. One a traitor, always a traitor. When you make friends with her, you have a forever loyal ally on your side. If you make her your enemy...don't expect to be redeemed any time soon. Good luck avoiding her peircing stare.
History:
Skysong was from a different forest entirely...a place that once held four clans. MistClan, DuskClan, WoodClan, and AshClan. She was born in WoodClan, a prosperous and honorable group of toms and she-cats. However one day, something went terribly wrong. MistClan was wiped out, by an epidemic. No one knew how or why, and tension was always high between the remaining clans.
Skykit was her first name, and it suited the adventurous female well. She was always climbing trees and rocks, and getting stuck on them as well...unfortunately it took longer for her to learn to get down than getting up. Her keen eyesight spied mice and fellow kittens at an early age, and her favorite game was to pounce down from the rock or tree branch she was hiding from onto her brother Fishkit, and her sister Nightkit.
When time came for her and her siblings to become an apprentice the leader, Yellowstar, took Skypaw under apprentice himself, for that year there were many apprentices, more so than warriors. Everyone was happily busy training, and life was good. The newly named Skypaw gave her mentor quite a pawful, often sneaking off to catch prey on her own, and though she brought it to the elders instead of eating it, she often got into trouble for wandering off on her own. Time and time again, she often scared the leader by leaping down from the heights she so loved onto his back, bowling him over many times. As she grew she went on patrols, and fought off rouges, and other clan cats. The greatest battle during her apprenticeship was against Ashclan, in the midst of a patrol. The clan had been suffering a tough year, and was after a peice of Woodclan territory...however Woodclan was ready to fight back.
AshClan had originally planned to attack the camp in an ambush, however Skypaw's grey and black tabby brother, Fishpaw, and her black sister Nightpaw, had scented them and hurried to warn the clan. Immediately Woodclan rose to fight them off, the young apprentice siblings in the lead, and Skypaw close behind. Though most of the clan was wounded, Woodclan managed to chase AshClan off. Fishpaw died that night of his injury, much to the grief of Nightpaw and Eaglepaw. The day after, Nightpaw and Skypaw earned their warrior names, becoming Nighteye and Skysong.
After Fishpaw's death, Skysong became aloof, almost an outcast. Nighteye, however, focused on the clan. Moons passed and leaf-bare came around. The deputy, Redear, and Yellowstar struggled to keep their clan fed. Prey was scarce that winter because of the large clan. Five elders died that winter, out of eight total, and so did two of seven apprentices. Now 14 moons old, Skysong witnessed the death of Redear, a victum of green cough. Being so near to the deputy, she caught it herself, however she was treated early enough that she soon became well once more.
Nighteye hated Skysong. She blamed her for their brother's death, blamed her for not healing him. No, she did not blame the medicine cat, she blamed Skysong, for the medicine cat had ordered the young apprentice to grab some medicine, and by the time she had returned, he was gone. So to get back at her she sucked-up to their Clan leader, earning a reputation of 'powerful and wise'. Skysong knew differently, for she was her sister. However there was nothing she could do about it. By that moonhigh, Nighteye became deputy.
When Skysong was 15 moons old, the clan leader died in a brutal battle with DuskClan. After grieving for their leader, the she-cat grimly left her clan, without glancing back. She knew that Nighteye would banish her anyways. StarClan had warned her. Soon she came upon this place, this strange land. Eager to join a clan she chose the one and only GustClan.
Role Play Example:"Hey! Butterfly! Wait up!" A young apprentice Skysong, at the time named Skypaw, was racing about after a particularly pretty butterfly, painted with blues and blacks, and it fluttered just out of her reach. They always did that. Never had she caught one, and she never really would, because she was told that it was bad luck to touch a butterfly...because once touched they could never fly again.
Why? Well her momma told her so.
Not paying attention to where she was going, Skypaw lept for the butterfly once more, tripping over a great golden lump. Rolling over, the apprentice lept to her feet and hissed angrily, trying and failing horribly to make herself look terrifying. The lump moved, and a young male apprentice rose to his paws, eyes glittering in mock challenge.
"What are you doing here? You shouldn't be in my clan's territory!" she yowled at the cat, ready to spring. The tom only scoffed and sat down, eyeing her with amusement in his eyes.
"Well obviously I was taking a nap. What does it matter really that I am in your clan's territory? Besides...I like butterflies..." he said, turning his gaze towards the fluttering creatures. Immediately Skypaw deflated, and grinned.
"I like them too! I've always wanted to fly like them." she said, and the male cat was immediately thrilled.
"Me too!" he said happily, and they tumbled about, play fighting through the Butterfly Gardens, as if they had always been close friends. Once they were sprawled on the ground, panting, Skypaw turned to him.
"Oh yeah! My name is Skypaw. Who are you?"
"Goldenpaw..."
Skysong woke up, blinking as the new-leaf sun half-blinded her eyes. Lack of sleep caused her to take naps at random times of the day, due to worrying about all the happenings. Mistclan's disappearance, Hawkpaw's betrayal, Nighteye's hatred of her because of her brother... it all rose back to her as she became concious once again.
Her and Goldenpaw used to have so much carefree fun...where was he now? Rising to a sitting position, she sighed, blinking away the remainder of her sleep as she began to groom herself. She doubted she'd ever see him again. Pity.
