What if...
What if Voldemort had never chosen Harry Potter? What if he had chosen Neville Longbottom? Would Frank and Alice have made the same decision and James and Lily? Would they have given up everything - their lives - for their only son? Would Voldemort have left his mark on the baby boy? And what about James and Lily? Would they have been spared Frank and Alice's fate? Would Harry still have his happy family?
Would Neville have what it takes to be The-Boy-Who-Lived?
The Scene...
It is the year 1995 in Britain, and the Dark Lord has risen once more. With his new body and his old followers back, his plan is to move ahead as scheduled. With one tiny problem. Neville knows he's returned and he's made sure to tell everyone who will listen that the Dark Lord is amongst us. The Ministry has been trying vigorously to staunch these rumours and prove Neville an attention-seeking liar; while at Hogwarts, he has been ridiculed as never before. Slytherins used to be the only real source of cruelty, but now the other houses - and even his own Gryffindor - have joined the slandering and jeering. The only thing keeping him going this time is his best friend, Luna Lovegood. Though it may be said that they are a little more than friends.
Now Neville must try to keep his head up and spread the truth before the Dark Lord infects every area of the wizarding world - his plan being to gain control before any knows he's even alive. But even if the world accepts the facts, will that be enough? Or will Lord Voldemort conquer still?
The Variables...
And you thought Voldemort was all you had to worry about. He isn't the only one vying for world domination, though. Other dark wizards desire the same thing and they aren't too willing to sit back and let Tom Riddle take all the glory and power for himself. From every walk of life they come, seeking control over the Ministry, the muggles, the world. Some have the same ideals as Riddle, true, but some wish to accomplish other things. Equality for all races is a major issue amoung goblins, werewolves, and vampires, and some think it is high time for wizards to be knocked down a peg or two on the food chain.
So what will you fight for? There is no time for being neutral anymore, for one thing is certain - if you fight for no other reason, you will be fighting for your life.
