For as long as any cat can remember, the nine bands have lived in a delicate social class that divided them up. The brightest and most colorful were placed at the top, the dullest and darkest at the bottom.
Rainbow, a mixed cat with a pelt of all colors, had chosen this. She had said that the brighter, happier, more colorful ones should deserve to be at the top. They should have the best lands, the better treatment, and rule to the rest of the bands. Her mate decided that the ones with red and white coats will come next; his nature was of evil and hatred, so he chose the reds. Rainbow didn't want any one band to be completely evil, so she chose the kind whites to be along with them. Next came the blues and the greens, then followed by the yellows and oranges. The bright pinks were chosen to be alone, but they argued against this and the silvers and greys were pulled into their band. Purples and indigos were chosen to be the closest to last, which was ended with the browns and blacks.
And the thing was, it stayed like this. For many a years, the same ways remained and no one acted against it. But the Kiyatto, Kara, and Lamara do not want to take this anymore. They're tired of being at the bottom, of kissing up to Draffilie and Ekraon just so they won't get hurt. And guess what? They're out for revenge.
