It was silent, save for the gentle bubbling of the hot springs. It was nice here, Skysong decided, relaxing somewhat. The tension of travel had long since dissolved, though her body was tense out of habit. She had a clan now, since the GustClan leader had so graciously accepted her into the clan. She knew few cats in her clan still, for many avoided her. Some thought that she was a rogue, so the rumors went. No, she was simply a cat from another clan. From another forest entirely.
She had been living in a place called WoodClan. StarClan was revered there as well, but the she-cat figured the ancestors here would be different. Skysong would be accepted into different paws when she passed from mortal life. Tossing her head to gaze curiously at the night sky, she breathed in the hot steams of the water, standing still at the edge. Skysong was not too partial to water, she did not swim well.
The warmth was welcoming, for the night was cool. Letting her eyes close happily, she purred. It was comforting to have a clan again. The life of a rogue was not for her.

Taking a slow look around, a dark tabby shape came out of a clump of grass. He had been sleeping out here alone after hunting with the group of warriors and apprentice. "Hey," he called. Strange enough as it was, he was more relaxed and calm here than he's been in a while. Must be the hot springs. He hoped he hadn't scared her off--he wanted someone to talk to. Of course, he was insane enough as it is. Why would he want to talk to her?

Skysong was too relaxed to be startled by the cat. She only looked at him, and nodded her head. "Good evening." she replied, blue eyes suddenly wide awake. Heyla! There was a cat here! Straitening up she turned her whole body to face him and smiled slightly.
"Are you a part of this clan? I have not seen you before...but then again, I'm a new addition. I'm surprised they actually let me in." she said, with an amused purr. Sure, she could be friendly when she wanted to. Her voice was smooth and nice to listen too, like music. That was where her name came from. Well, half of it.
Ears twitched as she caught the noises of the night in her eardums, the soundwaves connecting to her mind as she recognized several night creatures wake up. Who knows what was out there? She would have bristled if she hadn't been capable of protecting herself. As it was, she remained calm.

Hawkwing, for once, couldn't give a snappy reply. "Yes, I suppose so. I am the Clan deputy. I guess you don't know every face," he meowed slowly, his deep voice sounding like the complete opposite of the she-cat's quiet and soft sing-song meow. Hawkwing kicked himself mentally. Stupid! Why are you being nice? he growled to himself, his poision green eyes blinking at the she-cat.

Skysong smiled apologetically. "Oh yes, I beleive you were next to Flightstar when she accepted me...I'm sorry, I have a knack for forgetting faces." Her tail lashed slightly. That meant this was Hawkwing. Eventually becoming Hawkstar, she supposed. That was how the Warrior Code went, certainly. Her blue eyes gazed silently at the male.
"It is a pleasure to meet you. Again." she said with a small chuckle. She knew this male was known for his snappy, arrogant personality. Why he was being so nice, especially to a newcomer, baffled her. However she didn't show it, only replied with the kindness and respect that was due to a deputy of GustClan. Her clan. It was nice to be able to say that again.

With a flick of his tail, Hawkwing sat down slowly, his fur feeling like it was rubbed the wrong way. Lightning seemed to crack in the air when he looked back at the she-cat. "Um, how do you like Clan life?" he asked, his heartbeat spluttering slightly as he tried to look away from her eyes. Which, he just noticed, were a sky-like shade of blue. He couldn't look away. Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, he thought to himself.

Skysong smiled again, lowering herself into a sitting position to make herself more comfortable. Curling her tail around her paws she blinked gently to encourage the male. He seemed to be sputtering. It took her a minute for her to realize he was gawking at her. That only made her smile grow bigger. If she had been a human, she would have blush.
"Very well. I used to have a clan before I was chased out. The clan's leader hated me for selfish reasons, so made up an excuse to get me banished." she said, her smile turning a bit sad as she gazed past Hawkwing into the distance. Her clan had loved her, she remembered. Until she was blamed for the death of a kit. Which truly had never been her fault. Nightstar had set her up.
Remembering that she was with another cat, she snapped from her world of memories to return Hawkwing's gaze. His eyes were a stunning green, a shade she hadn't seen before in a cat. Blinking, she realized her spine was tingling, and she lowered her gaze shyly.
"Is it hard being the deputy?" she asked softly, gazing at her paws.

"Um...." Hawkwing really couldn't talk. He hated himself right now, so much. "Well, it is kind of hard being deputy," he meowed, his voice a little scratchy as he fought to not squeak. The murky dark tabby's whiskers twitched a little.

Skysong grinned at Hawkwing and rose to twine around him playfully. This could be interesting, certainly. "Of course it's hard! Deputies have more responsibilities than any cat besides the leader or the medicine cat. But is it worth it?" she asked, her blue eyes glittering in amusement. Her tail grazed against his shoulder. He was quite the handsome cat. What happened to the arrogant cat everyone talks about hmm?
"Do you look forward to gaining the power or leadership?" she asked, suddenly dangerous beneath the playful surface, a storm brewing in the endless oceans in her eyes. Was he a true deputy?

Hawkwing's eyes seemed to burn with poision. "It is worth it," he mumbled, his eyes looking away from her, his ears burning. Of course, he really did want to be leader. Why else had he clawed his way to power? Then again, he didn't really know. Or did he...?

Skysong chuckled, letting the previous question slide. Licking his nose she sat a few feet from him. He was being quite shy. Her tail flicked in amusement as she let him gather himself, grooming her chest quietly, eyes never leaving the tom. She quite liked his green eyes. They seemed to bubble with all sorts of emotions. Lifting her head she smiled sweetly.
"Care to take a walk? The heat is getting to me." she said, ears flicking towards the hot springs. It was almost suffocating, but was that really the springs, or was it the male standing before her.

[[ -starts to crack up- ]]
Hawkwing blinked his eyes, and stood up, feeling as if his dark nose was pounding and on fire. "Okay....where to?" he asked, flicking his tail aimlessly up at the sky.

Smiling, Skysong rose to her feet as Hawkwing did. "Shall we go to the Moors? We can always hunt together." she said, with amusement in her eyes. She trotted around him so that she stood next to him, fur barely touching. "Lead the way, Hawkwing." she said, purring his name.

Hawkwing nodded, his head whirling as he breathed in her scent. A scent like the sky and the stars, but like flowers. Her fur nearly touched his, and his own tabby pelt stood on end as his heart beat like the frantic beat of a mouse before his claws. "Okay then, let's go," he meowed in his deep voice.
